National KidWind Challenge Champions Announced in New Orleans

A total of 192 students competed in the National KidWind Challenge during the 2016 AWEA WINDPOWER 2016 Conference & Exhibition

(New Orleans, LA) May 25, 2016 – To inspire students in grades 4-12 to explore their passion for renewable energy and engineering, KidWind, the international leader of clean energy education, hosted the National KidWind Challenge at the 2016 AWEA WINDPOWER 2016 Conference & Exhibition in New Orleans this week. A total of 49 teams of students competed for the chance to win the grand prize of $1,500 cash and Vernier Software & Technology lab equipment for their school, second place prizes of $750 in cash and equipment and third place prizes of $400 in cash and equipment. Herndon, Virginia, May 24, 2016—Over the past year, digital learning policy research and advisory firm Evergreen Education Group conducted in-depth analyses of nine schools that use online curriculum and platforms from Fuel Education™ (FuelEd™) as the instructional foundation of their programs. After observing and interviewing groups of students, faculty, staff, and school leadership at each of the nine schools, Evergreen Education Group identified certain key characteristics that make blended and online learning programs successful, including student relationships, online curriculum as the primary source of instruction, and a variety of instructional support.

LONG BEACH, Calif. – May 17, 2016 – Epson today announced new findings from a recent study conducted by Radius Global Market Research that evaluated the readability of content displayed on a 70-inch flat panel in an average-sized classroom. According to the new research, 58 percent of students in an average classroom can’t read content displayed on a 70-inch flat panel.

The event will take place at the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) WINDPOWER 2016 Conference & Exhibition, the Western Hemisphere’s largest wind power trade show, on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans. The student teams will showcase and test their hand-crafted wind turbines in front of wind energy industry experts.
