SAN FRANCISCO, April 29, 2013 – To share the latest recommended practices that can transform special education programs and service delivery in public school settings, PresenceLearning, the leader in online speech therapy services for K-12 students, is hosting a free webinar on Thursday, May 9th at 1 pm ET (10 am PT). •Increase their knowledge of how to lead transformation that fosters efficiencies and effectiveness in special education services.
•Identify ways to pursue efficiencies and cost containment measures in a range of special education services spanning organization, personnel, and delivery.
•Recognize ways data may be used to develop locally applicable special education program improvements.
This webinar is part of an on-going series of free webinars sponsored by PresenceLearning. The webinar series, “SPED Ahead: New Realities, New Choices – A Forum for School Leaders,” brings together thought leaders who are re-thinking the way special education services, especially speech-language pathology and other related services are delivered in the 21st century.
Since 2009, PresenceLearning’s online speech therapy services have provided schools with a practical, affordable new option for service delivery: web-based access to a nationwide network of live, highly qualified, fully licensed speech-language pathologists who are available whenever and wherever they are needed. In 2012, PresenceLearning added occupational therapy (OT) to their service offering. By partnering with PresenceLearning, school districts can fill staffing gaps related to acute and chronic SLP and OT shortages, reduce high caseloads for onsite personnel, improve student outcomes and save money. PresenceLearning also offers access to technical specialists, as well as culturally and linguistically diverse speech-language pathologists and occupational therapists.
During the 2012-13 school year, PresenceLearning will conduct more than 120,000 live online therapy sessions in public, charter and virtual school districts of all sizes nationwide.
