Margaret Heck
Margaret was born and raised in Maryland. She grew up loving going to school and running around her neighborhood afterwards with her neighbors. When she was a junior in high school, she became the managing editor for her high school’s newspaper and knew she wanted to explore more of the communication world in college.
Margaret is a recent graduate of Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where she majored in Public Relations with a minor in Political Science. Her love for her university helped her easily decide to work for the Office of Residence Life while she was a student. She loved going into work in between her classes and getting to talk to various members of the Marquette community every day. She was also a Marketing & PR intern at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts. She appreciated the opportunity to write and design for shows she was so enthusiastic about. Her favorite show she was able to see during her internship was Les Misérables.
Throughout college, Margaret volunteered with an organization, Women and Youth Supporting Each other (WYSE), where she and other Marquette women mentored middle school girls every week. Margaret was also part of the executive board her last two years of college. This organization had such a great impact on her and helped her realize her passion for education and helping students.
When she’s not working, you can find her spending time with her family and friends. She loves any chance to hang out with her two brothers, sister, and brother-in-law. She is also a huge sports fan. If the Orioles are in town, you can find her cheering on her favorite team at Camden Yards.
