Washington OSPI’s Dyslexia Advisory Council Recommends Curriculum Associates’ i-Ready® Diagnostic as a Literacy Screening Tool

Districts across the state can use the award-winning online program to support their implementation of early dyslexia screening with students in Grades K–2  

NORTH BILLERICA, Mass., November 10, 2020—The Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction’s (OSPI) Dyslexia Advisory Council recently named Curriculum Associates’ i-Ready Diagnostic to its list of Recommended Literacy Screening Tools. Now, school districts across the state can use the award-winning online program to help identify students in Grades K–2 who display indications of, or areas associated with, dyslexia as part of their early screening of dyslexia. Today, the i-Ready program serves more than eight million students and approximately 25 percent of all K–8 students in the United States.

The Association of Latino Administrators Announces its New Executive Board

Drs. Francisco Duran, Gustavo Balderas, Danna Diaz and Alex Marrero bring a wealth of experience in educational leadership and advocacy

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Nov. 9, 2020) – The Association of Latino Administrators & Superintendents (ALAS) has announced its new executive board members. They are: 

  • Dr. Francisco Duran, President
  • Dr. Gustavo Balderas, president-elect and Director of Region 2 Northeast
  • Dr. Danna Diaz, secretary and director at large
  • Dr. Alex Marrero, treasurer and director of Region 6 Northeast

The board members were sworn in during the recent virtual ALAS National Education Summit.
