PublicSchoolWORKS Launches New Safety Refresher Courses for K-12 Staff
New courses cover key safety topics essential to help districts reinforce safety best practices
Cincinnati, Ohio (June 24, 2019) — Coinciding with National Safety Month, PublicSchoolWORKS the number one provider of complete, online safety and regulatory compliance programs for K-12 schools, today announced the launch of powerful new post-incident retraining (PIRT) courses for school staff. Available now, these short, five-minute rapid learning modules are designed to reinforce safety best practices for school staff who have been involved in a workplace incident or accident and help prevent future incidents.
“If a safety incident occurs in a school, the new PIRT courses provide relevant and timely training to prevent a similar incident from happening again in the future,” said Steve Temming, President of PublicSchoolWORKS. “The new courses significantly reduce the time staff spend on refresher training, while helping to sustain a safe school environment year-round.”
The new PIRT courses cover topics including blood exposure, contact with an object, harmful substances, muscle strain/back injuries, accidental or intentional physical contact with a human, slips, trips or falls, and more. Each course is only five minutes long, includes basic safety information, guidelines and best practices and includes a short, end-of-course assessment.
The courses are available now to districts using PublicSchoolWORKS’ EmployeeSafe Suite and are designed to complement districts’ employee accident management program. Courses can be automatically assigned to an injured employee after incidents are reported to retrain the employee and prevent future incidents. Administrators can also assign courses on a case-by-case basis to reinforce safety best practices to staff. All of the courses are available in both the United States and Canada.
