PublicSchoolWORKS' Parent InfoCenter wins Interactive Media Outstanding Achievement Award
Parent InfoCenter online portal for schools helps parents stay on top of training for, and reporting of, bullying and other safety issues
Cincinnati, OH – (October 10), 2012 –PublicSchoolWORKS, a Cincinnati-based company that offers the one and only comprehensive, fully-automated risk management system available for schools, won the Interactive Media Outstanding Achievement Award for its Parent InfoCenter online portal. The Parent InfoCenter features online training for parents, awareness information and reporting tools for students and parents and is part of the Student Bullying and Violence Prevention Program (SBVPP) offered by PublicSchoolWORKS.
Parent InfoCenter is custom-designed to meet district needs as well as certain state-specific requirements for safety awareness. It provides an online tool where parents may view the same training given to school personnel on the prevention and identification of child abuse, bullying prevention and other content, in addition to the obligations for reporting bullying and other safety concerns. Staff may also use the tool to share information with parents during parent/teacher nights.
“Recent events and new legislation make bullying and other safety issues a growing concern in districts around the nation. It is imperative that administrators, teachers, students, and parents, become informed of the issues, signs and obligations for reporting,” said Tom Strasburger, vice president of PublicSchoolWORKS. “The Parent InfoCenter makes it possible for all parties to participate in finding solutions to these safety issues.”
